I spent a bit of time in the water and did not notice that I had picked up a leech until it dropped off in the shower that evening.
I seem to have a very strong reaction to a leech bite as my foot developed a huge blister.

It took about a month to heal.
The same thing happened last year and nobody could say what the cause was, but now I know.
