Utricularia inflata was discovered when it was flowering in October 2021. The flowing is very distinctive and we had probably not ventured into that area of the lake in October before, allowing it to remain undetected. We are therefore intrigued by when it flowers on Lake Arrowhead, so we have been building a table that tracks when we have seen it flowering.
One theory is that U. inflata only flowers when the water temperature is below some threshold, so spring and fall.
